Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

PlaylistParty is a small, independently-run community. This policy explains what information we collect from members, why, and how it's used.

What we collect

When you register, we collect your email address, a username, and a password (stored securely as a one-way hash — we never see or store your actual password). You may optionally add a display name, a short tagline, a bio, and a profile photo.

If you were a member of the original PlaylistParty community, we may automatically restore your old tagline, bio, and profile photo when you re-register with the same email address you used before.

When you submit a playlist for a party, we collect the playlist title, genre, an optional description, an optional cover image, and the list of songs (titles and artists) you enter.

How we use it

Your account information lets you log in and is shown publicly on your member profile and alongside anything you submit (username, display name, tagline, bio, avatar). Playlist submissions, including your song list, are shared with our DJ so they can produce your mixed track. Once a mix is finished and published, it's playable on the party page and your member profile.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie required to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run any third-party analytics on this site.

Third parties

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may see your device's IP address when a page loads. We don't share your account information, email, or submissions with any other third party except the DJ producing your mix.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and submissions for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account or any content removed, contact us and we'll take care of it.
